Must be registered with and hold a valid practice permit from College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA) prior to commencing employment.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 1 year of experience in a seniors care or long-term care setting. Knowledge of geriatric care practices and common health conditions affecting seniors. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with residents who have dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. Familiarity with Alberta’s health care regulations and standards. Previous experience with mobility aids and assistive devices. Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems; such as Connect Care. Valid certification in the Competency Assessment Program (CAP) for Health Care Aides in Alberta, or the ability to obtain certification prior to employment.
