Must be registered with and hold a valid practice permit from College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA) prior to commencing employment.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of the Health Care Aide program or recognized equivalent required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required. Ability to speak, read and write English fluently. Recent patient care experience in a Geriatric Psychiatry setting preferred. Experience with Connect Care preferred. Ability to maintain own educational requirements with the assistance of the education department and manager. Demonstrated patient care focused attitude in your day-to-day work. Ability to work independently and function as a team member. Ability to be self-directed, have good organizational and time management skills. Must be able to work in a fast-paced and, at times, highly stressful environment. Annual Influenza Immunization and FIT testing are required. Current clear Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search is required.
Preferred Qualifications:Successful completion a recognized mental health certificate program or have successfully completed one full time year (2022.75 hours) of working with psychiatry or dementia patients/residents within an acute care or continuing care setting.
