Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager of the Rural Central Staffing Office, the Clerk IV - Staffing Clerk position provides staff scheduling support to all of the Rural Covenant Health Sites. The Staffing Clerk uses the ESP & ASC staff scheduling applications, and works within established staff scheduling processes to complete complex and often urgent staff scheduling tasks within short time lines in a busy, high pressure environment. You will ensure that employees are scheduled appropriately and employee pay data is captured in accordance with Covenant Health policies, procedures, and collective agreement provisions. You must enjoy providing outstanding customer service in a fast paced environment while adapting to frequent interruptions and shifting priorities. Your key responsibilities will include: filling pre-booked and immediate shifts that result from staff vacation, leave of absence, illness and education leave; anticipating staffing needs and informing managers of shifts that require further attention; entering data for payroll; and providing scheduling reports, records and statistical information. Required Qualifications: One year related post secondary certificate required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:High School Diploma required as well as 1-3 years staff scheduling experience in health care. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required. Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal is required and evaluated. High degree of customer service, both in-person and by phone/email, problem solving, conflict resolution, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills are required. Must have superior active listening and interpretative skills. Must have the ability to work independently with minimal direction and within a team environment. Must have demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail with a high level of accuracy. Must have superior ability to organize and prioritize. Must be flexible and able to meet the demands of changing deadlines. Must be able to purposefully work with colleagues, partners and clients to achieve shared goals. An excellent attendance record, reliability and personal suitability must be demonstrated through employment references. Current Cover Letter and Resume required.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to applicants with Covenant Health Intermediate ESP education. Previous ASC experience and Timekeeping/payroll experience, as well as knowledge of the various applicable collective agreements and time reporting codes would be considered an asset.
