Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) is required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Undergraduate degree in nursing (BN, BScN or equivalent) – a combination of education and experience may be considered. Five years recent Medicine and Geriatric experience. Two years demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience (e.g. Charge Nurse or other leadership experience).
Preferred Qualifications:Current CNA certification in Geriatrics or Medicine/Surgery; Current education and access in Ambulatory Connect Care; Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records, Connect Care, VAX and ESP. Committed to safe, effective and ethical patient care and work practices; Ability to work in a fast paced, highly stressful environment; Able to deescalate tense situations; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to participate as an effective member of and lead the interprofessional team.
