Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Ability to work various shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and take call by responding within 30 minutes. Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Ability to operate technical instruments and equipment on a daily basis, assisting with equipment maintenance. Participation in training of new staff. Must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with patients/clients, families, staff, interdisciplinary team members, and personnel from other departments in a fast-paced and changing environment. Must demonstrate interest in professional growth and be prepared to maintain competency of technical skills. Proven analytic and problem solving skills, attention to detail, logical/methodical work habits, and ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent training or previous MLT experience, preferably in a rural setting is desirable. CSMLS certification.
