Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program.
Additional Required Qualifications:A grade 12 high school diploma is required. Graduation from a recognized medical laboratory assistant training program is required. Current Basic Life Support certification is required. Recent phlebotomy experience is preferred. Successful demonstration of laboratory and data entry skills is required. Working within a team environment, good interpersonal skills, effective time management and the ability to set priorities are necessary. The successful candidate must be adaptable and flexible within an environment of change and interruptions. The candidate selected will have the ability to listen, comprehend and orally respond to or relay information, directions or questions in person, over the phone or in writing in an accurate, clear and concise manner. The successful candidate must represent Laboratory Medicine and Pathology in a respectful, professional and courteous manner. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
